FOUNDED ON INNOVATION

NUT Systems was founded in 1976 by John Molyneux a leading figure in hydroponics, who combined an academic background in horticulture with a vision to make hydro systems efficient for small and medium-scale growers.

To bring his first design, the Gro-Tank to market John had to start from scratch, experimenting with fibreglass and later vacuum forming to produce small-batch systems for individual growers, he developed his own nutrient mixes and dosage charts, and wrote grow guides to educate his customers.

John continued to innovate , introducing the Ebb & Flood, Flo-Gro (dripper), Oxypot (DWC) and Amazon (aeroponic) systems to a rapidly expanding market of independent growers. His tireless pursuit of new and more effective ways to increase yields and improve quality positioned NUT Systems at the forefront of hydroponic technology.

SETTING THE STANDARD

Today, our team of hydroponic experts continue John’s legacy, working out of our dedicated facility in Lancashire, UK. Our core focus is quality – ensuring that growers can trust our systems to deliver consistently high yields with every harvest.

We don’t just develop the systems, we use them ourselves, season after season. Our onsite grow rooms, glasshouse and polytunnel allow us to test, monitor and improve each of our products based on real-world use.

Every system is designed and manufactured in-house , using robust and proven components and inspecting every unit by hand before shipping to our customers around the globe. If it doesn’t meet our strict standards, it doesn’t leave our workshop.

LEADING THE WAY

We’re committed to furthering John’s vision – that every grower should have the tools and expertise they need to achieve the highest possible yields and best quality products.

Sustainability is important to us. We use ecologically sound materials including recycled plastics, and strive to continually improve the energy efficiency of our systems – better for the environment, and better for growers.

Our in-house team of PhD-level horticulturalists, plant geneticists and chemists continue to refine and develop our our active hydro systems and deliver new products, ideas, and advice to help our community of growers succeed.
